Arup is seeking a Water Resource Consultant to work on a variety of exciting projects related to Australian waterways. This role focuses on delivering high-quality projects in water and natural resource management, including business cases, environmental assessments, and design development. This role will provide the opportunity for day-to-day learning and development through project delivery working alongside senior consultants. You will also be provided the opportunity to knowledge share and provide mentorship to other members of the team.
The Opportunity
Assist in the delivery of integrated water management projects, including environmental assessments, design development, and strategic planning.
Contribute to stakeholder management by identifying project stakeholders and supporting engagement strategies.
Participate in research, data analysis, and fact-checking processes to support accurate reporting.
Support hydrological and hydraulic modelling to assess water flow, drainage, and basic groundwater interactions.
Help prepare water engineering documentation, including specifications and cost estimates, while monitoring construction quality control.

Is this role right for you?

• A relevant tertiary qualification in environmental or civil engineering or a similar field.
• Experience in Water Resources or Integrated Water Management within a consulting business.
• Knowledge of hydrological and hydraulic modelling, as well as integrated water management principles.
• Familiarity with water-sensitive urban design, such as bioretention, wetlands, and stormwater harvesting.
• Strong attention to detail, a strategic mindset, and the ability to adapt to dynamic project environments.
