Under general supervision, performs basic to moderate complexity calculations, modeling, data analysis, on site evaluations and/or other similar evaluations for water resources projects (Ex: climate change adaptation; coastal analysis and engineering; collection systems; CSOs; dams; drainage; economics and planning; ecosystem restoration; flood management; green infrastructure; groundwater; hydroelectric power; hydrology and hydraulics; integrated resource planning; irrigation; open channels; outfalls; planning; pressure conduits; probability and risk analysis; reservoirs; sedimentation; spillways, gates, and outlet works; stream, rivers and wetlands; stormwater management; urban watersheds; water law and regulations; watershed management; water supply planning and systems; and water quality, etc.).
Provides technical guidance and training to more junior staff. Reviews the work of more junior staff.
Contributes to firm’s Technical Knowledge Management by developing white papers and technical design documentation of new or special case designs, studies, etc. Submits technical papers and designs for publishing to technical journals. May create or work with a team to create a poster or other presentation material for a conference.
Performs other duties as required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree in Science or related discipline.
3 years of related experience.
Domestic and/or international travel may be required. The frequency of travel is contingent on specific duties, responsibilities, and the essential functions of the position, which may vary depending on workload and project demands.
Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Expert Knowledge of computer assisted design and drafting (CADD) 3D and 4D software and practices.
Solid knowledge of scientific methods and processes.
Expert Knowledge of Microsoft business software (excel, word, etc.).
Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
