Te kōwhiringa | The Opportunity We’re seeking a Water Serviceperson to support operations and maintenance across local water networks. This role is hands-on, varied and focused on keeping critical infrastructure operating safely and reliably. You’ll respond to network faults, complete routine maintenance and reinstatement works and engage directly with customers and stakeholders. You’ll also take part in a standby and call-out roster and support incident and emergency response as required. Working closely with your supervisor, team members, subcontractors and council representatives, you’ll ensure work is completed to contract requirements and Downer standard operating procedures. Accurate field reporting, strong communication and a commitment to Zero Harm are essential parts of the role. This position suits someone who enjoys practical work, takes ownership of outcomes and values teamwork, safety and service delivery. Mōu koe | About You You will bring: * Experience maintaining urban and rural water reticulation networks * Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills * Confidence dealing with the public and responding to service requests * Ability to accurately complete field reporting using mobile devices * A safety-first mindset aligned with Zero Harm * Full Class 1 licence (Class 2, RTW, traffic management and confined spaces training an advantage) You’re self-motivated, reliable and comfortable working in a field-based role that supports the community.
