Downer is an industry leader in water, providing water services to a quarter of New Zealanders. We support our customers across the full asset lifecycle from the conceptual development of a project through design, construction, commissioning, and whole-of-life support and optimisation.
We are currently seeking a Water Serviceperson to join our busy team in supporting the Southland/Invercargill region. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in the water industry and be able to handle a wide range of jobs and projects to maintain the water networks.
The main purpose of this position is to carry out operations and maintenance tasks, as well as respond to faults in the Southland District Three Waters networks.

. Your duties could include:

  • Routine and planned preventative maintenance, installation, and repairs on water, wastewater and stormwater assets.
  • A hands-on role in completing work safely and meeting our client and the needs of the contract

NGA PŪKENGA MOTUHAKE | IMPORTANT SKILLS

You will be hardworking, have a great attitude, a passion for the outdoors and bringing with you:

  • Ideally, Infrastructure Works Level 3 or 4, and/or Water Reticulation qualifications preferred, but training is provided.
  • A full and clean Class 1 driver’s license is mandatory. Class 2 & RTW are an added advantage.
  • Hazard awareness training would be beneficial
  • Knowledge and experience in urban and rural water reticulation system maintenance
  • An understanding and commitment to health and safety in the workplace.
