Te kōwhiringa | The Opportunity Invercargill’s water networks don’t look after themselves and that’s where you come in. As a Water Serviceperson, you’ll be out in the field maintaining assets, responding to faults and restoring services that homes, businesses and emergency services rely on. This is practical, boots-on-the-groundwork, carried out in all conditions and often under time pressure. You’ll take ownership of your jobs from start to finish, fault response, customer interaction, reinstatement and reporting all while working to contract requirements and Downer procedures. You’ll also be part of a standby and call-out roster, supporting incidents and civil emergencies when needed. If you’re the type who takes pride in solid workmanship, looks out for your crew and believes safety is non-negotiable, this is a role where your skills genuinely matter. Mōu koe | About You You’ll likely have: * Experience working on water reticulation networks * Strong fault-finding skills and a calm approach under pressure * Confidence dealing with the public when things aren’t going right * Ability to complete field reporting using mobile devices * A hard line on safety and doing the job properly * Full Class 1 licence (Class 2, RTW, confined spaces or traffic management a bonus) You’re reliable, practical and not afraid of early starts, cold mornings or getting your hands dirty.
