Te kōwhiringa | The Opportunity We’re looking for a Reactive Water Serviceperson to join our Auckland team, helping maintain the performance and reliability of critical wastewater and stormwater networks. This is a hands-on, fast-moving role where you'll be at the frontline of network operations. From investigating faults and responding to overflows to resolving odour complaints and carrying out routine maintenance, your work will directly support the communities and customers who rely on these essential services every day. You'll take ownership of fault response activities from investigation through to remediation and reinstatement, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently and in line with contract requirements and Downer standard operating procedures. The role also involves customer interaction, incident response and participation in a standby and callout roster. Working closely with supervisors, team members, subcontractors and clients, you'll help deliver high-quality outcomes while maintaining strong safety, environmental and customer service standards. Accurate field reporting, sound judgement and a proactive approach to problem-solving will be key to your success. Mōu koe | About You You will bring: * Experience in infrastructure, utilities or civil maintenance environments * Strong fault-finding, investigation and problem-solving skills * The ability to communicate effectively with customers, stakeholders and team members * Experience working with mobile field devices and completing accurate reporting and documentation * A proactive approach with the ability to work independently and as part of a team * A strong commitment to health, safety and environmental responsibilities * Full Class 1 licence, with Class 2 and Road Traffic Worker qualifications advantageous * A customer-focused mindset and the ability to remain calm under pressure You’re motivated, dependable and enjoy being out in the field.
