Job Overview DFW Airport is seeking a skilled Water Treatment Technician to ensure the safe, efficient, and compliant operation of our boiler, chilled, hot, condensate, and condenser water systems. This critical role supports the quality, performance, and reliability of thermal energy-related systems that keep our airport running smoothly. What You’ll Do: Conduct chemical analyses on boiler, feed, chilled, hot, condensate, and condenser water systems. Inspect thermal energy water systems for integrity, identify deficiencies, and implement corrective actions. Maintain and upgrade water treatment chemical systems, pumps, feeders, and corrosion monitoring programs. Manage chemical inventories, calibration of controllers, and laboratory instrumentation. Compile chemical data, maintain logs, and track performance trends for management review. Review engineering plans for water system modifications to ensure proper treatment procedures. Support Environmental Affairs with observations related to water treatment and compliance. Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent. 3 years of experience in water system chemical analysis, inspection, and maintenance. 2 years of experience operating or repairing water or wastewater systems. Valid Class C driver’s license. Ability to pass a medical physical examination. Equivalent education/experience combinations may be considered. Key Skills & Expertise: Strong knowledge of industrial water treatment and potable water systems. Familiarity with government regulations, safety precautions, and hazardous materials handling. Skilled in reading/interpreting blueprints, diagrams, and technical manuals. Ability to plan, schedule, and evaluate work assignments. Proficiency with chemical analysis, calibration of test equipment, and quality control programs. Strong written and verbal communication skills with ability to maintain accurate records. Preferred Qualifications: Associates degree or formal training in water treatment or industrial plant operations. Supervisory experience in a water treatment or maintenance environment. Working Conditions: Combined office, industrial plant, and field environment. Exposure to extreme weather (below 35° / above 110°), noise, dust, solvents, and chemicals. Frequent climbing, kneeling, stooping, and lifting (up to 50 lbs, occasionally 100 lbs). Requires strong color perception for chemical analysis.
