POSITION DESCRIPTION

As a Modeler you are a core member of a Advanced Analytics Team reporting to the CEO. You will operate in a cross-functional team at the cutting edge of data science in the water industry. You will be involved in innovation through developing models and frameworks for a product that provides tangible value to the industry by changing the way water treatment plants are operated.

Responsibilities:

ROLE COMPETENCIES

  • Process Modeling and Optimization: Expertise in modeling, optimization, forecasting, and fault diagnosis for chemical and biological treatment processes.
  • Deterministic and Data-Driven Modeling: Strong understanding of both deterministic models and data-driven statistical and machine learning models for analytics, including applications with streaming data.
  • Industrial Data Analysis: Proficiency in data cleaning, analysis, and modeling using physicochemical principles and data science techniques.
  • Water and Wastewater Treatment Expertise: Deep knowledge of treatment processes (e.g., activated sludge, MBR, RO, UF, NF) and related equipment (e.g., pumps, ERDs, heat exchangers).
  • Engineering Document Analysis: Skilled in creating and interpreting Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), control philosophies, and technical specifications.
  • Python Development: Demonstrated ability in Python for scripting, modeling, and running advanced analytics.
  • Value-Driven Analytics Delivery: Ability to understand the value analytics add to industrial facilities and balance accuracy and complexity to deliver models with optimum scope in record time frames.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Build statistical models and machine learning inference systems using multiple data sources
  • Communicate findings derived from data clearly and concisely throughout the organization
  • Create visualizations, documentation, and requirements specifications to collaborate with product, software, and business stakeholders
  • Provide expertise on data science modelling techniques to other teams within the company
  • Contribute to maintaining a production-level codebase of models and modelling tools using tools such as Git, Docker, Jenkins, or similar.
  • Test and validate models, algorithms, and tooling against real-time client data to ship code at the global scale with confidence
