About the role As a member of the Parks & Gardens team and reporting to the Waterfront Team Leader, you will be responsible for performing a range of cleaning and maintenance tasks around the Geelong Waterfront, ensuring the precinct is safe and clean for all to use. You will be required to operate and maintain a range of horticultural and landscaping plant and equipment and perform routine checks on quality and cleanliness of the Eastern Beach Children’s Pool and Waterfront water features. Key responsibilities include: * Assist the Parks & Gardens unit in providing a clean and safe Waterfront for all to use. * Undertaking duties on the Waterfront including (but not limited to) turf management, paving, litter collection, landscape maintenance, and pruning. * Maintain water quality and cleanliness of the Eastern Beach Children’s Pool and the Waterfront’s water features. * Maintain irrigation systems including programming controllers, irrigation repairs and maintenance. * Ability to operate and maintain horticultural and landscaping plant and equipment including mowers, manual and electric hand tools, brush cutters, edgers, blowers, sprayers and related machinery in an effective and efficient manner in compliance with relevant laws, regulations and practices. About you To be successful in this role, you will have: * A qualification in Horticulture, Landscaping or Turf Management or previous experience in a similar role. * Current Victorian Drivers Licence. * Current Working with Children Check (employee).
