The role of WaveLogic Software Development Senior Manager will be to provide technical leadership for a team developing optical transport products, ensuring they are delivered on time and within budget. This includes working closely with hardware teams to develop robust and scalable solutions, while also maintaining high standards of quality assurance throughout the entire lifecycle of each project.
The candidate should have experience with embedded Linux systems; proficiency in C; strong understanding of networking protocols including TCP/IP, DNS, HTTPS etc.; ability to debug complex issues quickly and effectively; excellent interpersonal relationships; good communication skills both written and verbal; solid problem solving abilities coupled with analytical thinking capabilities along with organizational skills necessary for managing multiple projects simultaneously.
A successful applicant should possess a Bachelor’s degree preferably in Computer Science or equivalent discipline plus at least five years relevant industry experience working on large scale software projects involving multiple teams across geographies. They should demonstrate self-motivation combined with initiative taking capabilities along with exceptional attention to detail together with proven track record of meeting tight deadlines consistently. Strong interpersonal relationship building capability is essential given the need to collaborate across various departments internally as well as engage externally with customers or partners. A willingness to learn new technologies rapidly would also be beneficial considering how fast technology evolves today.
Pay ranges at Ciena are designed to accommodate variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions, and locations, reflecting our diverse products, industries, and lines of business. Please note that the pay range information provided in this posting pertains specifically to the primary location, which is the top location listed in case multiple locations are available.
Non-Sales employees may be eligible for a discretionary incentive bonus, while Sales employees may be eligible for a sales commission.
