Description
This is a full-time position within the offices of Wayne OBGYN, working 40 hours per week and 80 hours per pay period.                                                                                                                  QUALIFICATIONS: * Completion or currently enrolled in a recognized LPN or CMA program at an accredited college or university. * 1+ year experience in direct patient care, OBGYN preferred * Proficient in medical terminology * Prior Phlebotomy experience preferred   RESPONSIBILITIES:  * Reports for scheduled shifts on time and in a professional manner with regard to behavior, telephone courtesy, dress, identification, and communication with patients’ colleagues, and outside agencies. * Works closely with the provider and leadership to continually improve the patient experience though daily patient care, clerical support, ongoing projects and assumes additional duties as needed in a self-directed manner. * Under the direction of the provider, contributes to the completion of the patient’s chief complaint (including but not limited to respirations, blood pressure, pulse oximetry, height, weight and temperature) and documentation of patient/family needs. Identifies significant changes in patient condition through data collection and reports them to the provider. * Performs specific specialized tests (i.e. phlebotomy procedures) as needed. * Provides for a safe patient experience through adherence to clinical protocols, regulatory requirements, manufacturer standards and reports any potential equipment malfunctions or safety violations. * May support a variety of clerical office functions including calls, documentation, scanning, etc. * Within scope of Licensed Practical Nurse or Medical Assistant, demonstrates clinical knowledge and focuses on customer service to answer and triage patient telephone calls. Documents in EMR accurately and appropriately. Records complete and accurate messages and obtains necessary instructions from providers and nurses, etc. when appropriate. * Supports internal and external customers, to maintain a superior customer experience across the continuum of care through teamwork. Communicates professionally with patients, providers, and co-workers at all times. Actively participates and is engaged in staff meetings. * Flexibility to stay as needed to get the job done * Other duties include but not limited to ordering supplies appropriately, tracking referrals, coordinating ancillary services, labs and diagnostic tests, disposing contaminated supplies, etc.
