Description

WHATEVER YOU DO, YOU do it RIGHT.
The WCB Claims Advisor is accountable for managing all WCB claims within the Association, ensuring compliance with all necessary administrative procedures. You will monitor accident and injury patterns, proactively shaping our Health & Safety (H&S) strategy to minimize workplace injuries. Your responsibilities will also include challenging questionable claims, collaborating with legal teams to resolve disputes, and driving down both the number of WCB claims and the associated premium costs each year.

Responsibilities

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Manage the end-to-end WCB claims process, ensuring compliance with reporting deadlines and minimizing penalties.
  • Analyze and contest questionable claims, working closely with legal counsel to navigate dispute resolution.
  • Collaborate with business units to offer modified work solutions and support leaders in managing return-to-work conversations.
  • Monitor accident and injury trends, using data-driven insights to influence the company’s H&S strategy.
  • Act as the primary liaison with WCB, representing the organization and maintaining a productive working relationship with WCB representatives.
  • Ensure legal compliance by staying updated on WCB regulations and best practices.
  • Provide guidance and training to leaders and employees, ensuring proper documentation and communication of injury claims and return-to-work programs.

WHAT YOU’VE DONE

  • You have a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field.
  • You bring 10+ years of HR generalist experience, partnering with senior leadership to develop and implement benefits, H&S, and WCB strategies.
  • You have strong business acumen and a deep understanding of WCB processes and employment law.
  • You’re an excellent communicator, skilled at building relationships across all levels of an organization.
  • Health & Safety certification is an asset but not required.
