GENERAL JOB STATEMENT The Weaned Pig Specialist is responsible for overseeing and assisting with the daily aspects of weaned pig placement for a specific flow in company-managed swine units and contract wean to finish and finishing swine units. The individual will ensure that the site manager will comply with all company policies and procedures regarding animal care. The individual will also oversee the health status of pigs in the wean to finish facilities, and establish and maintain wean to finish and finishing production targets and goals. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE Associates degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school education in swine production; or two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and training.

Responsibilities

The Weaned Pig Specialist oversees daily aspects of weaned pig placement and ensures compliance with company policies regarding animal care. They also monitor the health status of pigs and establish production targets.
