Description

SSI needs to add a Software Engineer to support our current list of services provided for the U.S. Navy. This individual is responsible for managing the development of software supporting integrated applications for computer systems and Navy combat weapon system.

Education/Experience/Skills:

  • U.S. Citizenship and Active DoD SECRET Clearance required.
  • BS degree from an accredited college or university in an applicable discipline such as Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Physics or Mathematics.
  • Ten (10) years of experience in the development of software supporting integrated applications for real-time computer systems and TTWCS computer programs.
  • Five (5) years of experience applying quality assurance inspections to software products and development of software to support Interactive Electronic Technical Manuals.
  • Three (3) years of experience with browser-based scripting languages such as JavaScript.
  • Demonstrated experience programming using C++ and Java computer languages.
  • Demonstrated experience using LINUX operating systems and commands
Responsibilities
  • Develop formal Software Development Plans (SDPs).
  • Follow the guidelines outlined in the SDP for all software development and maintenance efforts to ensure consistency and adherence to established protocols throughout the software development process.
  • Ensure all technical assessments are thorough, addresses technical feasibility of implementation, and supports an integrated program plan or schedule.
  • Ensure technical communications is clear, concise, foster dialogue, and enable technical decision making.
  • Execute applying quality assurance inspections to software products.
  • Review and assess formal software/firmware documentation and presentations.
  • Utilize experience programming using C++ and Java computer languages.
