Web Application Developer - Carle Illinois College of Medicine
The Carle Illinois College of Medicine seeks a Web Application Developer to join our collaborative team. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • (2) years of work experience in IT‐related functions such as hardware/software support, programming, network design, network engineering, IT systems integration, or closely related field. College coursework which includes Information Technology (IT), IT Management, Programming, IT systems, or a closely related discipline may be substituted as follows:
  • 30 semester hours equals one (1) year (12 months)
  • Associate’s degree (60 semester hours) equals eighteen months (18 months)
  • 90 semester hours equals two (2) years (24 months)
  • Bachelor’s Degree (120 semester hours) equals three (3) years (36 months)
  • Demonstrated experience with web development using languages such as PHP, Apache, MySQL/MariaDB, or other languages and OS environments.
  • Experience developing front-end web interfaces using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and web protocols (HTTP, SOAP, REST, etc.)
  • Demonstrated experience with SQL queries.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience in an academic and/or medical education environment and understanding of the unique needs of educational institutions.
  • Experience with full-stack LAMP development for web-based solutions.
  • Experience with LMS and/or CRM systems.
  • Experience in environments requiring rapid learning and adaptation.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with gathering requirements and generating technical specifications.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with creating system and user documentation for applications and sites.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to problem-solve and address complex issues.
  • Demonstrated passion for continuous learning and self-improvement with ability to quickly adapt to new technologies and methodologies.
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills, with a focus on teamwork and collaboration skills that incorporate tact and diplomacy.
  • Ability to work efficiently and effectively independently and in a team.
  • Project management skills, with the ability to work cooperatively with all constituencies in a unique environment of engineering-based medical education in the context of the Carle and Illinois private/public relationship.
  • Willingness to learn all aspects of the college’s operational and strategic objectives.
  • Demonstrated success in collaborative projects and effective communication.
  • Familiarity with IT best practices and processes in software development, service design, information security, and change management.
  • Knowledge of student and patient privacy regulations (FERPA, HIPAA, etc.).

Appointment Information
This is a 100% full-time Civil Service 5031 - Information Technology Technical Associate position, appointed on a 12-month basis. The expected start date is as soon as possible after the search closes. Salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience, while also considering internal equity. The budgeted salary range for the position is $65,000 to $80,000. Sponsorship for work authorization is not available for this position.
