POSITION SUMMARY:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Web Designer to serve as key personnel in the development and implementation of the SETA application. The Web Designer will be responsible for creating visually appealing, user-friendly front-end interfaces that align with the design standards set by SCT. This role requires a blend of graphic design, UI/UX expertise, LMS integration experience, and front-end development capabilities, particularly in CSS and JavaScript.

MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science

OR

  • Four (4) years of equivalent education or training in a closely related field such as:
  • Web Design
  • Graphic Design
  • Interactive Media Design
  • Information Technology

MINIMUM REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

  • A minimum of five (5) years of hands-on experience serving as the primary graphics designer for large-scale, web-based projects.
  • Demonstrated experience in Technical Platform Development, contributing to the creation or enhancement of digital platforms.
  • Experience working with and customizing Learning Management Systems (LMS) such as Moodle, Canvas, Blackboard, or similar platforms.
  • Proven ability to design user-centric digital interfaces with a focus on clarity, usability, and responsiveness.

PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

  • Proficient in CSS and JavaScript, including frameworks and libraries commonly used in modern web development (e.g., Bootstrap, jQuery).
  • Strong knowledge of UI/UX design principles for web applications, particularly in education, training, or e-learning environments.
  • Ability to guide and inform content development teams on best practices in User Interface/User Experience (UI/UX).
  • Familiarity with web standards, SEO, cross-browser compatibility, and mobile-first development practices.
  • Proficiency with design and prototyping tools (e.g., Figma, Adobe XD, Sketch).
  • Experience working in an Agile or iterative development environment.

    Pay: $95,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year

Responsibilities
  • Design and develop the front-end interface for the SETA application based on SCT’s visual and design guidelines.
  • Collaborate with back-end developers, project managers, content creators, and LMS administrators to ensure a cohesive and functional user experience.
  • Translate conceptual ideas into user-centered designs, wireframes, and mockups.
  • Implement interactive design features using JavaScript, CSS, and other front-end technologies.
  • Optimize front-end code for performance, scalability, and accessibility.
  • Contribute to the design and enhancement of administrator functions within the LMS or course hosting environment.
  • Ensure design consistency and technical performance across different devices and browsers.
  • Conduct user research and usability testing to inform ongoing improvements in interface design.
  • Ensure ADA/Section 508 compliance and adherence to responsive design standards.
  • Provide technical documentation for implemented front-end features.
  • Collaborate on integration and user interface customization of the Learning Management System (LMS).
