About the Role:
As a Web Designer & Developer, you will play a pivotal role in the creative and technical production of multiple websites across a variety of platforms. You’ll lead the design and development of visually engaging and functional websites that align with our branding, ensuring a seamless user experience. This will involve creating layouts for landing pages, product pages, and other key site areas, applying design principles to make each site visually appealing while also optimising for performance and responsiveness across devices.
In addition to your design expertise, you will be responsible for front-end development tasks, utilising HTML, CSS, and JavaScript to build and maintain websites. You’ll work on platforms such as Wix, Webflow, and WordPress, ensuring that the sites you manage are not only visually compelling but also perform efficiently. You’ll be involved in migrating websites to more efficient no-code platforms, ensuring smooth transitions and handling any necessary design or technical adjustments.
A key part of your role will also include managing and maintaining Shopify websites. You’ll oversee CMS updates, product catalogue management, and apply customisations using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript to improve both user experience and functionality. You will be responsible for ensuring that the websites you work on are updated regularly and comply with SEO best practices, implementing strategies that boost search engine visibility and performance.
You’ll collaborate closely with internal teams, including marketing, technical, and creative teams, to ensure that projects are delivered on time, align with overall business goals, and meet the highest standards of quality and performance. Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design, layout, and creative direction for new and existing websites across various platforms.
  • Create and iterate on layouts for landing pages, product pages, and other sections of the website to enhance both visual appeal and user experience.
  • Manage the migration of websites to more efficient no-code platforms, incorporating design and coding optimisations where needed.
  • Use web content management systems (CMS) to update and maintain site content, ensuring accuracy and up-to-date information.
  • Conduct regular testing to ensure websites are responsive, efficient, and perform well across all devices.
  • Continuously improve the user experience through design iterations, user feedback, and data analysis, applying front-end code to enhance the user interface.
  • Collaborate with designers and developers to refine UI/UX elements like navigation, graphics, and responsive layouts.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date software documentation.
  • Implement and maintain high-quality SEO strategies, ensuring web content aligns with SEO and SEM best practices.
  • Resolve technical issues through front-end troubleshooting and by working with internal and external teams.
  • Manage ongoing updates and maintenance for Shopify sites, including template customisation, CMS updates, and product catalogue management, using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript to improve functionality.
