Motava is a digital marketing agency with a wide variety of clients, including home services, biosciences, high-tech industries and more.
We provide our clients with custom-built campaigns that involve: SEO, SEM/PPC management, content strategy & creation, social media management and web design/development.

ABOUT THE POSITION

We are looking for a mid-level or seasoned web designer / graphic designer / UI & UX designer. You do not need to be all 3 of these.
This position is available on a part-time, freelance, or contract basis (with no specific end date) depending on fit, candidate’s availability, and experience.
We will consider all applicants and invest as required for top talent.
We are in San Francisco, California but you may be remote. We have flexible work hours.

DESIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Required: Minimum 3 years of experience in a related role with experience in designing for the web.
  • Required: Intermediate to expert proficiency with Figma.
  • Required: English fluency required.
  • Basic HTML understanding and web standards understanding.
  • Intermediate to Expert proficiency with MailChimp / MailerLite (or other similar email marketing platforms).
  • Strong written & verbal communication skills
  • Strong research skills and enthusiasm to learn new topics.
  • Ability to work independently and in a collaborative environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree required.

Responsibilities

We’re looking for someone at a senior level, consultant level, or mid-level producer level. 1 or 2 candidates may be hired as a result.
You’ll be responsible for design for our various digital marketing clients. This will range from new website design, webpages using existing brand guidelines, and other graphic needs. Other possibilities include illustrations, UX/UI design, email templates, and print work.
Logo/brand identity is not typically needed.
You’ll work closely with other team members. Your efforts will be tied in or will involve content, development, SEO, social media, email marketing, and paid search.

Below is a list of responsibilities we need (primary) and responsibilities that would be helpful (secondary). You’ll be working on multiple projects at any given time so time management and being self-driven is a must.

  • Design - Creates/produces (designs) or procures (hires/manages an expert – client or contractor) designs for various online media including client websites, blog posts, ads, emails, etc. as needed.
  • Strategy - Discusses topic ideas with clients (when needed) through email, phone, and/or in-person meetings.
  • Media Strategy – Works with team to assist with content design.
  • Analyzes and revises assets for consistency, accuracy, and styling guidelines.
  • Usability & bug testing of content within scope of design work.
  • Helps create digital strategy with other team members.
  • Stays current on best practices.
  • Assists with brand strategy.
