Description

Job Title: Ruby on Rails Developer (Legacy System Modernization & Future Upgrades)
About Us:
We are working with a legacy Ruby on Rails program originally built in 2010. Our team has successfully duplicated the system and now requires an experienced developer to help modernize the interface, improve usability, and ensure the system can support current and future needs.
Role Overview:
We are looking for a developer with strong Ruby on Rails experience who is comfortable working with older codebases. The project will begin with making the changes and improvements we’ve identified, with future phases focused on building a companion app and upgrading the Ruby on Rails framework itself.
Responsibilities:
* Update and redesign the front-end interface to create a modern, user-friendly experience.
* Ensure the duplicated system integrates smoothly with updated features.
* Implement fixes, troubleshoot, and optimize performance in the current environment.
* Work with our team to plan and execute future upgrades, including developing a mobile/web app and upgrading Rails to a newer version.
Requirements:
* Proven experience with Ruby on Rails (legacy and current versions).
* Strong front-end development skills (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, UI/UX).
* Ability to navigate, clean, and refactor legacy codebases.
* Familiarity with Git or other version control systems.
* Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
* Experience upgrading older Rails applications.
* Database migration and performance tuning expertise.
* Knowledge of modern front-end frameworks (React, Vue, etc.).
* Mobile/web app development background.
