BACKGROUND

The Web Developer will be supporting website technical development services for the USCG National Maritime Center (NMC)’s Mariner Credentialing Program (MCP).
This is a full-time contract role located at National Maritime Center, 100 Forbes Drive, Martinsburg, WV. Benefits are available for this position.

QUALIFICATIONS

• U.S. Citizen
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Web Development, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• Minimum of two (2) years of experience in writing code by hand
• Knowledge of Hypertext Markup Language revision 5 (HTML5), Cascading Style Sheets (CSS), Bootstrap, and Syntactically Awesome Style Sheets (SASS) systems.
• Must be capable of using industry-standard tools and programming languages to support the development and maintenance of web pages.
• Experience working with U.S. government websites, ensuring compliance with DHS/USCG digital policies.

Expected to conduct frequent website updates, track website traffic, update monthly statistics, create HTML email templates for GovDelivery, optimize search engines, storyboard/redesign pages, develop page designs, and create complex interfaces for various Content Management Systems (CMS) like Drupal or WordPress.
