We have many exciting ideas for taking Speed Kit to the next level, that’s why we are currently looking for further addition as a Web Performance Engineer (all genders) in full time (40 hours).
ABOUT US
Baqend develops Speed Kit, a SaaS plugin solution to accelerate e-commerce websites by more than 50% within 2 days.
Baqend is a research spin-off from the University of Hamburg on the mission of building a web without loading times. The founders pioneered a novel approach to speed up the delivery of dynamic data. Speed Kit bundles years of this research in a plugin for large-scale e-commerce and brand websites, that is easily implemented by just a line of JavaScript code. Today, some of the leading European e-commerce players like Decathlon, Galeria, and BMW already rely on Speed Kit to improve their conversion rates, user experience, and SEO ranking. Since the product’s speed uplift is cleanly proven by statistically sound A/B-tests, Baqend is one of the fastest-growing SaaS companies in Germany.
ABOUT YOUR ROLE
To give you a better understanding of what this position consists of, we would like to share a sneak peek of a day in life…
The team will come together in the morning and you get assigned to a new customer. You start by checking out the website to get a feel for the current state of the performance as well as the user experience. You identify bottlenecks using your initial check-up and configure Speed Kit to tackle them as best as possible. You will likely also stumble across frontend issues with lazy loading, content shifts, or else and will come up with solutions to improve upon those.
You share your (custom) solutions with the team to probably have them find their way back into our product or become the template for additional tooling you will develop.
You finish your day off by helping one of our existing customers adjust the configuration for the frontend rework and celebrating with a cold drink on our roof terrace.
