POSITION OVERVIEW

This position serves as a Web Services Back End Development Specialist II creating, enhancing and/or maintaining applications using latest versions of software as directed by management within predetermined standards. In this role you will prepare technical, testing and end-user documentation and provide technical advice and analytical support for web templates and/or applications. In addition, you will coordinate and conduct benchmark evaluation and quality testing on applicable software/hardware products based upon the appropriateness of the product for the intended use on the Web, overall quality of the product, ease of use, user interface, product documentation, and vendor support mechanism for product. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of two (2) years of college with course work in computer science or directly related fields.
  • Requires one (1) year of Application Services or related Information Technology experience.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • One (1) year of professional experience with programming capabilities and database applications development.
  • One (1) year of professional experience with website design and creation using Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) Microsoft Dynamics M365 or Microsoft Power Platform.
  • One (1) year of professional experience with HTML, CSS, Java and Microsoft Azure DevOps (ADO).
  • One (1) year of professional experience with MS Office Suite, MS Project, and MS Visio.
  • Ability to prepare presentations, develop training materials/manuals and conduct training.
  • Ability to analyze data logically and exercise sound judgement in defining and evaluating problems of an operational or procedural nature.
  • Ability to gain and maintain working relationships.
  • Developed verbal and written communications skills to present technical information to others with clarity and precision.
Responsibilities
  • Under general supervision, serves as a Web Services Back End Development Specialist II for the Department of Innovation & Technology (DoIT) performing professional work of an intermediate level of difficulty in application services.
  • Plans, prepares, and performs technical, testing, and end-user documentation to ensure intended results.
  • Provides technical advice and analytical support for web templates and/or applications.
  • Coordinates and conducts benchmark evaluation and quality testing on applicable software/hardware products based upon the appropriateness of the product for the intended use on the Web, overall quality of the product, ease of use, user interface, product documentation, and vendor support mechanism for product.
  • Keeps abreast of new developments in the Information Technology (IT) field by continuing education through online training platforms, meetings, training sessions, seminars, and conferences to increase familiarity with and remain current on products, vendors, techniques, and procedures.
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
