This internship offers a hands-on opportunity for a motivated web designer/developer to contribute to a growing organization while enhancing their technical and creative skills. You will support the modernization of a WordPress website, optimizing user experience, SEO, and visual design. The role involves both creative problem-solving and practical development work, allowing you to see the impact of your contributions on the organization’s digital presence. You will collaborate remotely with a small team, gain exposure to strategic website planning, and help implement improvements that enhance site functionality and performance. This position is ideal for students or recent graduates seeking real-world experience and portfolio-building projects in a flexible, part-time capacity. Accountabilities: Audit existing WordPress website, plugins, navigation, and user flow to identify improvements. Troubleshoot and resolve functional, UX/UI, and performance issues. Develop proposals for website refresh, including layout, navigation, user experience, and visual enhancements. Implement approved updates and improvements, ensuring responsiveness and accessibility. Optimize site structure, content, and metadata for SEO and site speed. Assist with page design, templates, landing pages, and visual content integration. Ensure website remains mobile-friendly, secure, and performant. Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Web Design, Web Development, Computer Science, Digital Media, Graphic Design, or a related field. Hands-on experience with WordPress and page builders (e.g., Elementor). Strong understanding of SEO fundamentals and best practices. Proficiency in HTML/CSS; JavaScript or PHP is a plus. Knowledge of UX/UI principles and responsive design. Bonus experience: Google Analytics, website accessibility, graphic design, or digital marketing tools. Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to work independently while meeting deadlines. Strong communication skills and ability to explain technical concepts clearly. Competitive hourly rate: $25-$35/hour depending on experience. Flexible remote work schedule (10–15 hours per week). 3-month internship with potential for extension or ongoing paid projects.
