About the Project
We are seeking a creative and skilled Website Designer to develop a modern, user-friendly site for our initiative. The website will serve as a key platform to share our mission, showcase events and projects, and engage diverse audiences.
The Role
The Website Designer will be responsible for creating a visually appealing, intuitive, and responsive website that reflects our vision. You will work closely with our team to translate ideas into a polished digital presence that is both functional and inspiring.

Responsibilities

  • Design and build a responsive website optimized for desktop and mobile.
  • Create layouts, wireframes, and prototypes that align with project branding.
  • Implement and customize a CMS (e.g., WordPress, Webflow, Squarespace).
  • Ensure the site is optimized for accessibility, SEO, and performance.
  • Collaborate with the team to integrate multimedia content (images, video, event info, etc.).
  • Provide training or documentation for basic content updates post-launch.
  • Offer post-launch support and improvements as needed.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience designing and building websites, with a strong portfolio.
  • Proficiency in design and development tools (Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, WordPress, Webflow, etc.).
  • Strong grasp of UX/UI principles.
  • Knowledge of SEO and analytics best practices.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Experience with cultural, non-profit, or community-based projects a plus.

Job Type: Fixed term contract
Contract length: 12 months
Pay: $30.00-$60.00 per hour
Expected hours: No more than 40 per week
Work Location: Hybrid remote in Thornhill, ON L3T 7Z
