Description

The Village Barn is an alternative wedding and events venue in the heart of the Midlands. We are recruiting a Wedding & Events Coordinator to support our Venue Manager and help deliver memorable celebrations for our couples and clients.
This is a varied, hands-on role where no two days look the same. You’ll be assisting our Venue Manager in her day-to-day role, whether that’s keeping on top of emails and enquiries, coordinating the finer details of events, or welcoming couples and clients to the venue. It’s a role for someone who loves people, thrives on organisation, and isn’t afraid to jump in wherever needed.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS

  • Excellent computer skills: confident with emails/Microsoft suite, quick to learn new tools/systems
  • A people person with strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Exceptional organisation and time management skills, with the ability to juggle multiple priorities
  • A proactive, guest-focused mindset with great attention to detail

OTHER REQUIREMENTS

  • Willingness to work evenings and weekends in line with our events schedule in essential
  • Previous experience in weddings and/or event coordination is a strong advantage (but not essential for the right candidate)
  • A full driver’s licence and access to a car would be a great advantage (but not essential)
  • Must already reside in Ireland with the legal right to work in the Republic of Ireland
  • The Village Barn is part of David Smyth Catering, and from time to time you may also be required to work at other sites in the Midlands.
Responsibilities
  • Handle daily admin including emails, phone calls, and responding to sales enquiries
  • Prepare and manage weekly function sheets
  • Act as a friendly, professional point of contact for clients from enquiry through to event completion
  • Assist with wedding and event planning and coordination
  • Conduct site visits and client meetings
  • Work closely with internal teams (kitchen, bar, floor, etc.) to ensure seamless event delivery
  • Support the Venue Manager in her day-to-day responsibilities and overall operations
  • Roll up your sleeves on event days to help ensure everything runs smoothly
  • Carry out other ad hoc duties as required to support the smooth running of the venue
