WE ARE CURRENTLY LOOKING FOR AN ON-CALL CAPTAIN WHO WILL BE TRAINED AND AVAILABLE TO WORK CAPTAIN SHIFTS AS NEEDED ON WEEKENDS AS THE SEASON PICKS UP, BUT ALSO HAS FIRST PRIORITY TO SERVER SHIFTS IF DESIRED TO FILL OUT THE HOURS.

Calamigos Ranch is currently seeking event captains who will specialize in overseeing weddings and events of 75-500 guests while directing teams of 5-20 staff.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Read and properly implement Banquet Event Orders (BEOs).
  • Oversee & manage in-house servers and bartenders assigned to your event. This may include but is not limited to assigning tasks to staff, monitoring breaks and avoiding break violations, performing an uniform review at the start of each shift, etc.
  • Communicate effectively with event coordinators & vendors (hired from outside by client), being sure to stick to all Calamigos policies and procedures.
  • Verify counts and times on BEO match with kitchen copy. Relay any time changes to the kitchen lead. Practice proper cleanliness and food safety.
  • Pay special attention to bride/groom, parents, corporate clients, event hosts, etc.

Events are typically on weekends. Shifts are generally 9-12 hours. This is a mainly a PART TIME WEEKEND job…during peak season, some weekday shifts may also be available to add extra hours, but is not typical or guaranteed. On-the-job training is provided at a rate of $22/hour and commonly takes 3-4 weeks to complete.
