POSITION OVERVIEW:

As the Wedding and Events Sales Co-ordinator, you will be the key driver in securing new wedding and event business at Holiday Inn Newcastle Gosforth Park. This role focuses primarily on lead generation, handling incoming enquiries, converting sales, and supporting overall revenue growth.
You will proactively promote the hotel’s wedding and events offering, conduct sales appointments, follow up with potential clients, and manage relationships with suppliers and local businesses to generate bookings.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Previous experience in event coordination and/or sales, preferably within hospitality or a conference/wedding venue.
  • Strong organisational skills and keen attention to detail.
  • Professional, confident communicator with a proactive and sales-driven attitude.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience with digital marketing, email campaigns, or social media is an advantage.
  • Adept at building relationships within the local business community and event industry.
  • Well-presented, energetic, and willing to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
  • Driving licence.

    Pay: £27,000.00-£28,000.00 per year

Responsibilities
  • Proactively promote the hotel’s events offering:
  • Actively seek new business opportunities within the weddings and events sector.
  • Respond promptly and professionally to all incoming enquiries, nurturing leads and converting them into confirmed bookings.
  • Maintain a high conversion rate by following up systematically and personally with all prospects and previous clinets.
  • Attend networking events, wedding fairs, and industry showcases as a representative of the hotel.
  • Host regular venue showcases, drop-in appointment sessions, and open days for prospective clients.
  • Conduct evening and weekend appointments and tours to meet the needs of our customers.
  • Proactive calls previous clients and follow up with all past enquiries to encourage repeat business.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with local suppliers, vendors and the wider community to boost referral business.
  • Events Marketing and Communications:
  • Work in partnership with the social media management company to creatively promote the wedding and events segment, including the development of engaging content.
  • Create and distribute e-shots and targeted email campaigns to drive awareness and bookings relating to this segment.
  • Actively manage listings and content on third-party event and venue platforms, regularly updating offers and information.
  • Generate blog content focused on weddings and events to support search engine optimisation (SEO) and provide engaging material to share on social media and the hotel website.
  • Event Coordination:
  • Maintain accurate records of enquiries, bookings and client communications.
  • Prepare proposals, booking confirmations and contracts in a timely and professional manner.
  • Assist in the administration, planning and co-ordination of weddings and events where required particularly for peak periods and holiday cover.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, aiming to exceed client expectations at every stage.
