JOB SUMMARY

Gosfield School is seeking to appoint a Part Time Weekend Caretaker – to join our committed Estates Team. This is an exciting role for someone with relevant experience. You will help our Estates team to provide a warm, safe, clean and secure environment for our children, staff and visitors.

A Weekend Caretaker is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, security, and general upkeep of a facility, assisting with premises lettings, over the weekend. Their duties include opening and closing the building, ensuring it is secure, performing minor repairs, and maintaining cleanliness and tidiness. They may also be responsible for preparing spaces for events, monitoring security systems, and addressing any issues that arise during their shift. 

  • Cleaning the building where necessary
  • Gardening and performing landscape duties
  • Inspecting the building, including heating, cooling, lighting and alarm systems to make sure they are in good working order
  • Performing basic repairs and maintenance tasks as required
  • Sourcing, booking and supervising contractors for major repairs
  • Managing bookings for any buildings or rooms available for hire
  • Opening building at the start of the day and locking all doors and windows when not in operation
  • Adhering to the company’s safety policies to create a safe working environment for everyone

The ideal candidate would currently be working as or have experience of working as a caretaker or estates assistant, able to work independently or as part of a team and someone who takes pride in their work.
This post is 8 hours per week, weekends only, with opportunity for additional hours to support school events, the hours will be flexible and agreed upon with the Head of Operations.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: £12.19 per hour
Expected hours: 8 per week
