At Westerley , we have a vacancy for a Weekend cook, 2 days a week (Saturday & Sunday) the working hours are 7am - 2.30pm. The successful applicant should also be able to cover some holiday leave and sickness of the full time cook when required.
Experience:
MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB:
To prepare and cook a balanced, nutritious home cooked traditional meals for up to 20 residents.. The weekend cook is also to control systems of food allocation to minimise waste and complete daily records in the ‘Safer Food Better Business’ document.
Line Management: Reports to and is accountable to the Manager and their Line Manager/Shift Leader.
PRINICIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES
· To maintain a balanced diet and varied menus.
· To be aware of the service users’ dietary needs and respond to their comments and requests in respect of the menu.
· To maintain the kitchen equipment, as specified by respective manufacturers.
· To ensure that all kitchen staff cleans the kitchen after use and, at the end of each shift, leave the kitchen in a clean and hygienic state.
· To prepare and home-cooked food of high quality that is presented well, and cleans the kitchen area.
· To hold a suitable food and hygiene certificate.
· To dispose of waste correctly.
· To contribute in the serving of food.
· To perform other such reasonable duties as may be required.
The successful candidate will receive 4 weeks paid holiday entitlement and for any bank holidays worked double pay and an additional day off. If you would like to work in our small friendly team, please contact us for further details.
