Key Responsibilities:

  • Food and Beverage Preparation: Preparing and serving food items like sandwiches, salads, and baked goods. Making coffee, tea, and other beverages according to customer orders and recipes.
  • Customer Service: Greeting customers, taking orders, answering questions about the menu, and providing a positive dining experience.
  • Cash Handling: Operating the cash register, processing payments, and handling cash or cashless transactions.
  • Cleaning and Maintenance: Clearing tables, washing dishes and utensils, cleaning equipment, and maintaining a clean and organized workspace.
  • Stock Management: Monitoring stock levels, restocking items, and potentially assisting with deliveries and stock rotation.
  • Ensuring Hygiene and Safety: Maintaining a clean and sanitary environment, adhering to food safety standards, and following health and safety procedures.
  • Other Tasks: May include tasks, such as setting up the cafe for service, assisting with food preparation in the kitchen, and other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Skills and Qualities:

  • Customer service skills: Being friendly, approachable, and able to handle customer interactions effectively.
  • Communication skills: Being able to clearly communicate with customers and team members.
  • Ability to work under pressure: Managing multiple tasks and providing efficient service during busy periods.
