Description SUMMARY: With Supervision, provides security, law enforcement, and fire watch services to students, employees, and the facilities of the School. ACCOUNTABILITIES: Essential Functions: Patrols campus to investigate potential problems on campus and takes proper course of action. Escorts persons from campus as needed. Notifies local authorities when warranted. Responds to all emergency situations on campus and takes appropriate action. Approaches buildings sounding fire alarms to evacuate students and staff and investigates cause of the alarm. Investigates utility failures and takes proper course of action. Performs surveillance rounds on assigned schedule. Enforces all traffic and parking rules on campus. Assists staff with students. Ensures facility is locked and secures facility as needed. Maintains vehicle and equipment issued. Follows MSB Use of Force policy. Completes reports as required and needed. Maintains confidentiality of all security procedures and ongoing investigations. Marginal Functions: Conducts minor maintenance procedures. Performs additional duties as assigned. CONDITIONS: Performance Standard: Must remain alert and attentive while employing sound judgment in the performance of assigned duties 100% of the time. Work Schedule: 24 hours per week without a designated meal period. Friday: 9PM-5AM, Saturday: 9PM-5AM, Sunday: 9PM-5AM This position follows the standard twelve-month school calendar. Additional hours or flextime may be required on an infrequent basis. Benefits Eligible. Requirements QUALIFICATIONS: Knowledge, skills and general abilities: General knowledge of standard police or security procedures in law enforcement. Requires minimum of 2 years related experience in police, security, or firefighting work. Requires a Class "C" driver's license with a driving record compatible with School standards. Ability to lift, push or pull up to 100 lbs. independently. Requires CPR, First Aid, and AED Certification. Ability to maintain certifications. High school diploma or equivalent. Must be able to pass a physical agility test prior to being hired to include: Lift 75 pounds (Male) / 60 pounds (Female,) walk 25 feet, return weight to ground. One and a half mile walk/run in twenty one minutes. Able to pull a one hundred pound dummy two hundred feet. After six months in this position, the employee is required to have: Basic knowledge of the School's HAZARDOUS SUBSTANCES & EMPLOYEE PROTECTION PROGRAMS. Basic knowledge of the School's WRITTEN HAZARD COMMUNICATION PROGRAM.
