ABOUT YOU

We are looking for someone who is organised, adaptable, and thrives in a customer-focused environment. The ideal candidate will have:

  • Education to GCSE level or equivalent in Maths and English.
  • Experience in administrative roles with a methodical approach to tasks.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and the ability to learn specific software for the registration service.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and spoken, with the ability to explain procedures clearly.
  • The ability to work both independently and as part of a team, handling pressure and prioritising tasks effectively.

Experience in a busy reception environment and dealing with confidential work is desirable but not essential.

Responsibilities

As a Weekend Receptionist, you will be the welcoming face of the Oxford Register Office, ensuring that every visitor feels valued and supported. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing a welcoming and professional reception service for ceremonies, appointments, and general enquiries.
  • Opening and closing the building, ensuring all areas are prepared and secure.
  • Offering administrative support to the Registration Team, including handling communications, producing documents, and managing clerical tasks.

This role requires flexibility to meet customer demand on weekends and bank holidays. The is an annualised hours role, with a minimum number of hours to be worked over the year on a rota basis. Additional hours may be available on a casual worker basis.
