Description
Description Alloy Engineering is looking for internal candidates to join a Weekend Welder role. This weekend position offers a full week’s pay for just 36 hours of work. The welder must be able to plan, layout, and perform complex welding operations on a wide variety of metals, including stainless steel, and alloys (nickel alloy) in vertical, horizontal, and overhead positions. Essential Functions: · Performs GMAW, and GTAW welding on different types of materials (steel, stainless, and nickel alloys). · Works on traditional projects and can perform most fit-ups that AECO requires. · Understands advanced blueprint reading and welding symbol interpretation. · Works independently regularly, and judgment can be trusted. · Understands time expectations and most jobs are completed within time estimates. Competencies and Attributes Needed: · Workmanship must meet or exceed ASME and AWS requirements. · Ability to follow written and verbal instructions. · Accountability to own projects with little oversight on non-ASME projects. · Passion to learn and grow. · Accountability to the team by holding to attendance requirements. Requirements · Minimum of 5 years of MIG and TIG experience. · Experience with basic welding principles and symbols. · Basic math skills: convert fractions into decimals · Performs GMAW, and GTAW welding with at least one certification. · Proficient with measuring tools; tape measure, micrometers and calipers, etc. · Must have your own basic tools (crescent wrench, tape measure, combination square, wire cutters, weld hood, etc.). Work Schedule: · Friday through Sunday, 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM. · Work 36 hours and compensated for 40 hours. Key Benefits of the Weekend Shift: · Paid for 40 hours when all 36 hours are worked (4-hour premium / ~11%) · Three-day workweek with four days off · Approximately 208 days off per year · Eligible for holiday pay when holidays fall on the weekend · Full-time benefits and PTO accrual apply
Responsibilities
The welder is responsible for planning, laying out, and executing complex welding operations on various metals, including stainless steel and nickel alloys, across different positions. Essential functions include performing GMAW and GTAW welding, working on required fit-ups, and interpreting advanced blueprints and welding symbols.
