The Territory Account Manager is the key liaison between WEG Marathon and its customers, representing Marathon Industrial motors business.
This position ‘owns’ a defined list of accounts, and is responsible for the day to day activities, revenue growth, and profitability with these accounts. The Account Manager works with these accounts to identify prospective new business, develops relationships, and provides technical and commercial solutions, while exceeding both top line revenue and profitability targets. Other customer activities will include implementing account plans, performing training, and introducing new products and solutions.
Reporting to the National Sales Manager, the Account Manager provides real-time feedback regarding projects, forecasting, opportunities updates, competitive threats, and other market intelligence. Tactical and strategic discussions involving pricing and channel are part of the day-to-day activities. The Account Manager has dotted line responsibilities to the other business leaders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for a defined list of accounts and bring new accounts in the Toronto and surrounding marketplace. The product portfolio includes WEGMarathon Industrial motors
  • Develop and execute account strategies to meet and exceed Sales & Profitability targets for the assigned account portfolio;
  • Work closely with key Distributors and OEMs in the assigned geography. Maintain end user contact as required. Perform regular account planning, forecasting, presentations. and training;
  • Demonstrate and deliver the value-add of Marathon motors portfolio, and develop pricing and application tactics (with managerial and marketing support)
  • Maintain a pipeline of business to ensure ongoing financial success of the geography. Utilize CRM as required
  • Breadth and depth of knowledge of customer needs, market forces, and customer expectations are required. Understand and communicate market trends and competitor activities;
  • Build and maintain a positive Customer experience;
  • Work with greater Marathon team including Customer Service, Marketing, and Operations;
  • Take part in assigned trade shows, training programs, market initiatives, and other sales initiatives;

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS

  • Technical diploma or degree in an electrical or mechanical discipline;
  • CET or engineering an asset;
  • Minimum 5 years of technical B2B sales experience. preferably into the motor marketplace;
  • Experience with Distributors and OEMs;
  • Strong working knowledge of MS Office (MS Excel in particular) and CRM applications;
  • Valid drivers’ licence
  • Local travel with some overnight travel will be required. Travel to the USA is likely
