We’re looking for a proactive and organized Weighbridge Operator / Transport Planner to join our Cardiff team. Your Role: As a key member of our operations team, you’ll ensure the smooth running of our weighbridge and coordinate the planning and dispatch of asphalt deliveries. You’ll work closely with customers, drivers, and internal teams to keep everything moving efficiently and safely. Key Responsibilities: Weighbridge Operations Receive asphalt orders via phone and email from customers Operate the weighbridge system to record vehicle weights Input and book orders, maintaining accurate records Collaborate with Operations and Commercial teams to produce daily production plans Schedule aggregate replenishment Liaise with drivers, suppliers, and customers for smooth operations Monitor and report discrepancies in weights or documentation Transport Planning Schedule and coordinate asphalt deliveries to meet customer needs Communicate with hauliers and drivers for timely dispatch Optimise transport routes and vehicle use Maintain delivery records and update transport management systems Respond to delivery issues or changes in requirements Health, Safety & Compliance Follow site safety procedures and legal standards Conduct basic vehicle compliance checks (load security, documentation) Report hazards, near misses, and incidents promptly Qualifications What We’re Looking For: Experience in weighbridge operations or transport planning (construction/asphalt preferred) Strong organisational and communication skills Proficient with transport/logistics software and Microsoft Office Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities Knowledge of HGV regulations and logistics best practices (desirable) Qualifications: GCSEs or equivalent in Maths and English NVQ or certification in logistics, transport planning, or similar (desirable) Full UK driving licence (preferred) Additional Information Disclaimer The information about this job description given above has been designed to indicate the general nature and level of work performed by employees within this classification.
