Weight Handling Equipment (WHE) Inspector – Category 1–4 Cranes
About the Role:
We’re hiring a skilled Weight Handling Equipment Inspector to conduct inspections on Category 1–4 mobile and overhead cranes in accordance with NAVFAC P-307 military specifications. If you’re detail-oriented, experienced, and ready to support military-grade operations, this is a great opportunity for you.

What You’ll Do:

  • Inspect mobile and overhead cranes (Categories 1–4)
  • Review mechanical, electrical, and structural components
  • Interpret load charts and develop lift plans
  • Prepare clear, accurate inspection reports
  • Identify hazards and recommend solutions
  • Ensure compliance with NAVFAC P-307, OSHA, ASME, and other regulations
  • Work independently or on-site with teams at military installations

Requirements:

  • U.S. Citizen
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Able to obtain military base access
  • Fluent in spoken and written English (for accurate safety documentation and compliance)
  • 5+ years of crane inspection experience (mobile/overhead, Categories 1–4, military specs)
  • Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and structural crane systems
  • Familiar with load charts, lift planning, and safety protocols

Preferred Qualifications:

  • NCCCO, CIC, or other relevant crane inspection certifications
  • Previous experience working on U.S. military bases
  • Vocational or technical training in mechanical or electrical systems

Physical Requirements:

  • Able to work outdoors in varying weather
  • Must be comfortable climbing, lifting, and moving around heavy equipment
  • Willing to travel to job sites as needed
