The Institute for Urban Indigenous Health Ltd was established by its founding members to provide a coordinated/integrated approach to the planning, development and delivery of comprehensive primary health care services for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander populations within the Southeast Qld Region. The Regional and Specialist Services Team was established by the Institute for Urban Indigenous Health (IUIH) in 2024 to provide coordinated, culturally safe, and integrated specialist, allied health, and primary health care support to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and families across Southeast Queensland. Guided by the vision and values of IUIH, the team works to enhance health outcomes through a collaborative, person-centred approach that addresses the social and cultural determinants of health. Our purpose is to ensure timely access to high-quality care and to strengthen the capacity of local services by delivering community-led health care. About the Role? As a first point of contact, the Welcome Officer is required to ensure the patient flow is conducted with minimal interruptions by effectively using time management skills, informative communication skills while observing the overall demeanor of the patients entering and exiting our services. Your day to day duties may include: Attend to the comfort and information needs of clients in the waiting room. Meet and greet clients and show them through to their Pod/Consult room or warm handover space if needed. Yarn with new clients to collect essential data and explain HWW role and Pod system. Screen for infectious or acute conditions (e.g. Covid, flu, heart conditions), provide sanitizer/PPE, instructions or escalate for treatment as needed. Arrange clinic-to-home (or other service) transport if required. Assist with reception/admin duties as required. About You?
