Description
The 2nd Shift weld associate position is responsible for fitting and welding of steel, aluminum and stainless steel parts using a MIG and TIG process. The position communicates with co-workers, and maintains a safe, organized and clean work environment. Essential Functions: * Read job specifications such as blueprints, calipers, and measurements to determine layout and procedures with supervision * Determine the appropriate equipment and methods based on requirements * Set up, adjust and operate equipment to fabricate parts to specifications * Maintain equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety * Ensure work is done safely, consistently and meets quality standards * Monitor work equipment to ensure usage is within optimum temperature to avoid overheating or expansion * Operate manual and semi-automatic welding equipment in vertical, horizontal, or overhead positions to weld structural metal to specifications * Inspect weld surfaces and structure to ensure accuracy and discover flaws * Tacks assemblies together * Repair improperly welded pieces and fill holes * Identify, tag and remove non-conforming materials * Accurately complete all required paperwork in a timely manner * Communicate with other departments as necessary * Keep work areas clean and organized * Adhere to all company rules and policies * Performs other related duties as assigned by supervisor   #ZR
