Description George Evans Corporation (GEC) is seeking a motivated and experienced Weld Lead to join our team. This position works a regular schedule of Monday through Thursday from 6:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and is responsible for providing day-to-day leadership and support to the welding department while ensuring safety, quality, productivity, and adherence to company standards. Essential Responsibilities Lead and coordinate the daily activities of the welding department. Assign work and prioritize tasks to meet production schedules and customer requirements. Train, mentor, and support welders and new employees in proper procedures and best practices. Ensure all work is performed in accordance with safety policies and OSHA requirements. Monitor quality standards and ensure products meet specifications and customer expectations. Assist in troubleshooting production issues and implementing corrective actions. Maintain a positive and productive work environment that aligns with GEC's core values. Communicate production concerns, staffing needs, and equipment issues to management. Monitor the productivity and performance of team members and provide feedback to management. Ensure proper housekeeping and organization within the welding department. Assist with continuous improvement initiatives and process improvements. Perform welding duties and other production tasks as needed. Understand and follow all applicable requirements of GEC's ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System (QMS). Ensure welding department processes, work instructions, and records are completed accurately and maintained in accordance with ISO requirements. Promote continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to improve safety, quality, efficiency, and customer satisfaction. Participate in internal audits, corrective actions, and process improvement initiatives as requested. Ensure employees are trained on applicable procedures and comply with documented processes and quality standards. Qualifications High school diploma or GED required. Minimum of 3-5 years of welding experience in a manufacturing environment preferred. Previous leadership or supervisory experience preferred. Strong knowledge of welding techniques, blueprints, and quality standards. Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills. Ability to train and motivate employees while fostering teamwork and accountability. Basic computer skills preferred. Knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 requirements and continuous improvement principles preferred. Ability to maintain accurate production and quality records and ensure compliance with documented procedures. Schedule: Monday–Thursday, 6:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m. (10-hour shifts). Occasional overtime on Fridays may be required based on production needs. Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, bend, twist, and lift up to 50 pounds throughout the shift. Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, heat, and moving equipment. Ability to safely operate welding and material handling equipment. Why Join GEC?
