  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives that increase departmental throughput, accuracy, and efficiency.

Quality & Safety Oversight

  • Maintain strict oversight of all weld quality standards and inspection requirements.
  • Guide operators and leads in corrective/preventive actions to address root causes and uphold product quality.
  • Enforce all safety rules, model safe work practices, and ensure participation in all required safety trainings.

Team Leadership & Employee Relations

  • Provide top-notch leadership by setting clear expectations, coaching employees, and creating a culture of accountability.
  • Hold team members accountable for performance, conduct, and adherence to company policies.
  • Partner with Human Resources on recruitment, weld testing, interviews, employee relations, and disciplinary actions.
  • Conduct regular timecard reviews, ensuring accuracy and compliance with labor standards.
  • Lead performance reviews and provide constructive feedback to support employee growth and development.
  • Foster strong communication, motivation, and collaboration across shifts and departments.

Talent Development & Recruitment

  • Partner with high schools, colleges, and workforce programs to build and sustain pipelines for skilled welders.
  • Mentor and support employees to advance technical skills, safety knowledge, and career growth within CMP.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5+ years of experience in metal fabrication or manufacturing.
  • CWI or CAWI certification preferred; expert ability to read and interpret blueprints required.
  • Proven supervisory experience within a welding or manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of multiple welding processes (MIG, TIG, FCAW, Stick welding, soldering).
  • Mechanical knowledge including pipe threading, rigging, machining, plasma cutting, and basic math.
  • Skilled in precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, etc.).
  • Proficient in fabrication and assembly techniques.
