POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Weld Engineer reports to the Manager of Quality Control and Engineering and represents BWXT Canada’s Field Services and Projects division within the Weld Engineering department. The role establishes and manages Canadian Welding Bureau (CWB) and ASME welding programs for all projects and provides ongoing support to the weld engineering team.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (preferably Manufacturing, Welding, or Mechanical) and P.Eng designation.
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in metal fabrication and welding, including 5 years in field applications, construction, or repair.
  • Strong background in manufacturing environments, welding procedures, material properties, and metallurgy.
  • In-depth knowledge of N285, CSA W47/W59, and ASME codes.
  • Excellent communication skills and proficiency in CAD, Word, and Excel.
