Description Berea, Ohio | Full-Time | 2nd Shift Supervisory Responsibilities: Yes Reports to: Plant Manager Alloy Engineering is seeking an experienced Weld Supervisor to lead welding and press brake operations at our Berea facility. This hands-on leadership role is responsible for driving safety, quality, productivity, and employee performance across second shift while partnering closely with production and day-shift leaders to keep work flowing efficiently. The ideal candidate brings strong manufacturing leadership experience, deep knowledge of welding operations, and the ability to motivate teams in a fast-paced fabrication environment. Essential Functions: Supervision and Leadership: o Lead, mentor/train, and supervise a team of welders and press brake operators. o Monitor, audit, and enforce all safety training and policies. o Plan, assign, and direct work to ensure production schedules are met. o Review and post daily labor transactions. o Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide feedback to team members. o Address and resolve employee concerns and conflicts. Production Oversight: o Monitor daily production activities to ensure quality and efficiency. o Ensure all welding operations (GMAW, GTAW, PAW and SAW) meet quality requirements. o Work with dayshift press brake supervisor to ensure forming processes meet company standards. o Coordinate with the Production Manager to align resources and priorities. o Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) such as productivity, quality, and safety. Quality Assurance: o Ensure all work meets or exceeds ASME and AWS standards. o Oversee and train for advanced blueprint reading and welding symbol interpretation. o Conduct regular quality checks and ensure all projects are completed within quoted estimates. o Record all nonconformance's (NCR’s) and define, record, and implement corrective actions. Safety and Compliance: o Promote a safe working environment by enforcing safety regulations. o Conduct and monitor regular safety training. o Ensure all employees adhere to safety protocols and use personal protective equipment (PPE). o Report and investigate accidents or incidents promptly. Continuous Improvement: o Work with Production Manager to identify opportunities for process improvements and implement changes to enhance efficiency and quality. o Foster a culture of continuous learning and development within the team. o Encourage team members to pursue additional training and certifications. Requirements · Strong leadership and supervisory skills with a minimum of 5 years in a leadership role. · In-depth knowledge of welding operations (GMAW and GTAW). Experience with SAW and or PAW is a plus. ·Experience with press brake, plate rolls and forming machinery is a plus. · Experience with Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel is a plus. · Basic experience with ERP systems. · Proficient in advanced blueprint reading and welding symbol interpretation. · Ability to manage time effectively and meet production deadlines. · Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. · Commitment to quality, safety, and continuous improvement. · Ability to follow written and verbal instructions. · Accountability and a strong sense of responsibility for team performance. · Passion for learning and professional growth. · Dependability and strong attendance record. Education and Experience: · High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in welding or related field preferred. · A minimum of 10 years of experience in welding and press brake operations. · At least 5 years of leadership experience in a manufacturing environment is highly desirable. · Certification in welding (ASME/AWS) is a plus. Work Environment: · The position requires working in a manufacturing setting with exposure to noise, heat, and varying temperatures. · Position requires physical capability which includes standing most of the time, lifting-up to 50 pounds, and pushing, pulling, bending, stooping, reaching as needed. · Standard shift is ten hours per day, with Steel-toe boots and safety glasses required. Plant facilities does not have air conditioning.
