In addition to the role itself, employees choose Weldall because we offer: Family-owned and operated leadership for over 50 years, with a long-term commitment to our people A stable work environment supported by a diverse customer base across multiple industries World-class benefits, including direct primary care at no cost, free diagnostic testing, and select surgical procedures No employee premiums for dental or vision coverage Structured onboarding and internal training programs that support skill development and long-term career growth A safety-first, team-oriented culture built on consistency, respect, and professionalism Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Including the following, however, additional duties may apply as required) Perform all tasks in a safe and responsible manner Provide direct supervision and leadership to welders, grinders, material handlers, and other assigned employees within the fabrication bay, with employee management as the top priority Maintain a consistent, visible presence on the shop floor to engage with employees, address concerns, remove roadblocks, and support daily execution Hire, onboard, coach, develop, discipline, and terminate employees in partnership with Human Resources Set daily priorities, assign work, and balance manpower to meet production schedules and customer commitments Enforce safety policies, PPE requirements, and safe work practices; address unsafe acts or conditions immediately Lead by example to promote a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures Ensure welding activities comply with AWS D1.1 requirements, WPS, drawings, and customer specifications Monitor quality and workmanship; partner with Quality to address nonconformances, rework, and corrective actions Provide hands-on technical guidance and instruction to employees; perform welding only when necessary for training, troubleshooting, or critical support Communicate production status, staffing needs, and constraints to management proactively Collaborate with Quality, Maintenance, Engineering, and Production teams to resolve issues impacting safety, quality, or delivery Participate in investigations related to safety incidents, quality issues, or performance concerns Complete required documentation related to timekeeping, training, performance, safety, and quality Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, efficiency, and employee engagement Requirements Education and Experience High school diploma or equivalent required; technical or trade education preferred Minimum of 5 years of experience in a structural or fabrication welding environment Minimum of 2 years of supervisory or lead experience with direct people management responsibility Strong knowledge of welding processes, weld symbols, blueprints, and AWS D1.1 requirements Demonstrated experience managing employee performance, including coaching and discipline Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills Ability to work in the United States without company sponsorship Preferred Qualifications Previous experience supervising employees in a fabrication or manufacturing environment Experience supporting employee training and skill development programs Familiarity with lean manufacturing or continuous improvement practices Physical Demands The employee is required to stand for extended periods throughout the workday. Job duties require frequent walking, reaching, bending, and interaction on the shop floor. The position may require occasional lifting up to 50 lbs. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
