Description Hours: Monday-Thursday: 3:30pm-2pm Friday: Noon-5pm Summary: A Welder I fabricates, and repairs metal and other weldable material by applying appropriate welding techniques. Reviews blueprints, specifications, diagrams or schematics to determine appropriate welding process. Cleans and inspects completed welds to determine structural soundness. Principle Duties and Areas of Responsibility: MIG welding with the ability to weld components as specified Produce various items and equipment according to H&S approved processes using fabricating and welding techniques and equipment Prepares parts and part surfaces, assembles, tacks, and welds parts together per print Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean, orderly condition and follows prescribed safety procedures Notifies Lead when faulty equipment or defective materials are discovered Adheres to company quality protocols and processes Perform job duties in an ethical, professional manner which is consistent with the H&S handbook Performs other related duties as assigned by management Perform duties with safety first quality mind set Skills and Abilities: Works under the close direction of senior personnel in the area Possess a moderate understanding of the general aspects of the job Has a basic understanding of blueprints and can identify how the parts go together Ability to read tape measures Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm The ability to weld tier one parts to standard alone after getting instruction from senior personal Requirements Qualifications: 0-1 year of general work experience Must be able to demonstrate welding ability by passing an in-house weld test Direct Reports: None Physical Requirements: Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
