D.A.C Mining Services is a family owned and operated Machinery Maintenance and Services business operating out of Mackay. We understand the importance of a good family and work balance and thus strive to offer the best of both worlds to our employees.
Due to our current high workflow & new projects we are looking for welders and/or boilermakers with experience in the maintenance & repair of heavy mining machinery & equipment, are reliable & have a strong work ethic.
You will be expected to perform the following tasks:
· studying blueprints, drawings and specifications to determine job requirements
· selecting, cleaning and preparing metal stock
· cutting marked-out metal sections and shapes using hand tools, flame cutting torches and metal cutting machines
· shaping and bending metal sections and pipes using hand and machine tools, and by heating and hammering
· aligning parts to be joined using hand tools and measuring instruments
· joining metal sections using various welding techniques, bolting and riveting
· examining welds for width of bead, penetration and precision
· finishing products by cleaning, polishing, filing and bathing in acidic solutions
· cleaning and smoothing welds by filing, chiselling and grinding
You will be rewarded with an attractive remuneration package with a work vehicle supplied.
*We have various positions available for suitably qualified welders to work various rosters.
