Description
The Welder position is primarily focused on Welding for our cable tray department. The Welder will direct and assist Assembler II's with assembling ladders as well as welding the cable tray ladders and fittings. The Welder will handle materials and parts up to 50-pounds frequently throughout the shift. Perform simple repetitive tasks and assembly of parts and components Use bolts, screws, hand tools, clips and other fastening devices Operate welding unit, perform minor adjustments, and weld both aluminum and steel Work under close supervision and may work from models, samples, or engineering drawings Remove excess weld, slag, spatter, and rough spots from workpieces using grinders, brushes, chisels, or scrapers Support all facility Continuous Improvement and LEAN initiatives including, but not limited to: Operate welding units and make necessary adjustments Operate machinery and presses safely & proficiently Work environment exposes to oils, lubricants, and solvents No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of Reno, NV will be considered. Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation A minimum of 1 year welding experience in a manufacturing environment (MIG/TIG) Experience adjusting and troubleshooting welding equipment Experience identifying defects and measuring workpiece to ensure conformance Previous experience with manufacturing fabrication Ability to weld aluminum and steel Experience with high volume, fast paced welding Position Criteria: Able to stand on feet continuously during working shift Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment as required by company policy and procedure Lift 50 pounds repeatedly Accurately measure components and products utilizing tape measures & calipers Ability to read engineering drawings
