JOB PURPOSE:

To fabricate, assemble, and weld metal structures and components according to technical drawings, specifications, and safety standards. The Welder Fabricator ensures high-quality workmanship in building and repairing metal frameworks and assemblies.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications.
• Measure, cut, and shape metal components using hand tools, power tools, and cutting equipment (plasma cutter, oxy-acetylene torch, etc.).
• Perform various welding processes including MIG, TIG, ARC (SMAW), and gas welding depending on the job requirements.
• Assemble and tack weld parts in preparation for final welding.
• Inspect and test welds to ensure structural soundness and adherence to quality standards.
• Use grinders, sanders, and other tools to finish welded surfaces as required.
• Repair and modify existing metal structures or products.
• Follow all company and safety regulations, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Maintain welding tools and equipment in good condition.
• Report any defective materials or safety concerns to the supervisor.
