Description

Location: San Antonio, Texas This job is for someone who works with metal using welding and cutting tools. The worker will cut, weld, shape, and paint metal parts and products. MAIN JOB DUTIES * Weld and cut metal using different tools and machines * Repair and build metal equipment and products * Make sure metal parts do not bend, overheat, or get damaged during welding * Put metal pieces together and prepare them for welding * Keep tools, machines, and the work area clean and organized * Help with other tasks when needed SKILLS NEEDED * Know how to safely use welding and cutting tools * Be able to read blueprints, drawings, and instructions * Understand measurements and basic math * Pay attention to detail and follow directions carefully EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE * High school diploma or GED * Trade school training in welding or related work experience preferred * Experience using measuring tools like tape measures and calipers is helpful PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS * Able to lift up to 50 pounds * Comfortable standing for long periods * Able to work outdoors and around loud machinery * Must be able to climb, bend, walk, balance, and carry materials safely NOTE: The above statements are intended to describe the general nature of work performed by the Welder/Fabricator.
