Job Description We have an immediate opening for a Welder/Fabricator to join our Michigan office located in Commerce. The Welder/Fabricator will be an integral part of a team dedicated to the fabrication and creation of large custom structures used in IGI systems. We seek individuals with technical aptitude and a great attitude. Primary Role: Fabrication of IGI custom structures for large-scale, high-resolution, audio-visual systems used with IGI PowerWalls and DesignViews. Detailed Activities: • Fabrication of mechanical structures. • Welding aluminum up to .25 thick. • Machining of custom parts for structures. • Assist with other tasks including installation, inventory, building maintenance, etc. Fabrication shop equipment includes Miller Dynasty 400, Miller Syncrowave 180, Millermatic 250X, Bridgeport Mill, metal lathe, various other fabrication tools. Qualifications • Must be focused on safety and quality. • Must be capable of reading and interpreting build and assembly drawings. • Must have at least five (5) years’ mechanical and machinist experience. • Must have excellent aluminum welding skills. • Must have forklift training (IGI will provide if not). • Must be willing to learn and assist with other duties. Travel Rare if any local or out of state/overnight travel. Work Hours Normal work hours for the Welder/Fabricator job are Monday-Friday 8am-5pm. Pay Compensation range is $26/hr. - $30/hr. depending on experience. Additional Information IGI focuses primarily on three key segments of the AV space: 1) Advanced Visualization, 2) Advanced Audio-Visual Integration, and 3) Corporate AV Integration. Advanced Visualization projects involve the design, engineering, fabrication and building of large scale, high-resolution visualization systems for the Fortune 50 and U.S. Military. These technology solutions include PowerWalls, virtual reality (VR) Rooms, and immersive stereo/3D technologies including motion capture labs. Advanced Audio-Visual Integrations projects consist of large dvLED and other LED video wall solutions, control rooms, and other complex, sophisticated solutions.
