OXFORD MACHINE AND WELDING IS CURRENTLY SEEKING A JOURNEYMAN WELDER WITH EXPERIENCE IN BOTH WELDING AND FABRICATION. APPROPRIATELY EXPERIENCED APPRENTICE WELDERS WILL ALSO BE CONSIDERED.

Oxford Machine & Welding Ltd. is a locally owned & operated steel fabrication shop located in Northwest Edmonton; we have had the privilege to service Edmonton and surrounding areas for more than 75 years. Our 22,000-sqft facility includes a full-service machine shop utilizing both manual & CNC machining, complete fabrication abilities (we offer carbon, stainless and aluminum welding), brake forming and shearing. Material processing capabilities such as HD Plasma cutting, structural & plate rolling as well as mandrel tube & pipe bending allows us to offer a ’one-stop-shop’ for many of our clients.
The various equipment & processes we offer coupled with the experience & knowledge of our 20+ employees afford us the willingness to pursue everything from small repair jobs to large production/fabrication contracts. We are proud to note that more than half of our dedicated employees have been with us for 5+ years and approximately one quarter have shared more than 10 years with us, some nearing 30 years of service.

Roles & Responsibilities:
· Read, interpret, and review blueprints or welding process specifications and ensure specifications will function as designed
· Operate manual or semi-automatic welding equipment to fuse metal segments using processes such as gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW), gas metal arc welding (GMAW), flux-cored arc welding (FCAW), shielded metal arc welding (SMAW) and oxy-acetylene welding (OAW)
· Operate metal shaping machines such as brakes, shears, ironworkers and other metal straightening & bending machines
· Conduct technical inspections, repair, modifications, and retrofits
· Some mechanical tasks will be required, to disassemble or assemble to complete tasks
· Ensure accuracy and completion of assigned tasks and projects
· The ability to take direction as well as make decisions
· Keep all work areas clean, organized and hazard free
· Other duties as required
Working Conditions:
· Physically able to lift up to 50lbs
· Always adhere to safety policies (and wear PPE as directed)
· Work both indoors and outdoors, occasionally at heights
· Overtime as required
