Description:

We take for granted that water is always available when we turn on a faucet, but trust that many manufacturers, engineers, and contractors were involved to get that water to you as well as reclaim it. Since 1958, Robar Industries has been Canada’s largest manufacturer of pipe connection fittings.
Headquartered in Vancouver, BC and with additional manufacturing facilities in Montreal, QC and Strathroy, ON, our teams find it really rewarding to be a part of delivering such an important resource to our communities around the world!
We are adding to our team at our Strathroy, ON facility and are looking for an eager and energetic Welder/Fabricator who will report to our Plant Manager.
Are you motivated and would like to work as a welder in a metal fabricating department? Do you have at least 2-3 years of welding experience? Do you have industrial manufacturing experience? We need you!
As part of your tasks, you will: occasionally operate metal cutting machines and rolling machines, but primarily you will grind and weld 1/4”, 3/8” & 1/2” mild carbon plate steel and occasionally stainless steel.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Proficient in MIG and TIG welding techniques
  • 1-3 years minimum experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Familiarity with blueprint/fabrication drawing reading
  • Ability to use hand and power tools effectively
  • Strong understanding of basic math for measurements
  • Previous work involving plate steel fabrication, fitment and welding
The welder will be responsible for welding and the use of all necessary equipment within the department. The candidate may be required to work in other positions as production demands justify it. When production requirements warrant it, overtime will be made available on a volunteer basis.
